It’s an interesting one because I’m sure I disabled the Escape key!
Just to confirm you are exiting the game via the Main Menu normally, right?
Clearly something in the shutdown process is failing… and I suspect the fact you have an AMD Radeon could be significant… I know these cards can sometimes behave differently and I could only test the game on the GeForce range.
So to solve a potential Radeon issue will not be easy but I’ll review the shutdown code to see if I get any ideas of how to debug further…
Other than this, the game plays ok ?

I downloaded the file without error last night…
Therefore would suggest you check maybe continuity of your connection during download or perhaps try it from another machine if you’re able to

OK I rehosted on Dropbox and updated the links within the text file.
So please try the download process again and let me know how you get on.

It seems that due to the file size, the web host cannot guarantee error free downloading of the file.
I’ve therefore hosted it external to this website and re-pointed the download links there.
So hopefully no more download issues!
It seems that several people had the same issue now so I’ve opened a support ticket with my web host..
In the meantime I’ll drop you an email with some alternative links

Did you try disabling your antivirus before downloading
It should really not be necessary as many downloads have been made successfully from these files, but might be worth a go
Failing that I will upload to a different service that I have eg Acronis Cloud and provide you a direct download link from there

Yes my virus checker also throws a warning, however I can assure you that the installer is virus free and can be safely allowed to run.
You may have noticed that I released a 188.8.131.52 patch this evening. This is to fix some graphical glitches that seem to have crept in with the 184.108.40.206 patch. Therefore please take this latest patch instead. I’ve distributed this one as a zip file, but you may still get a warning when running the executable…
