Hi Kevin, thanks for following up…
It’s still going… and slowly each piece gets added towards a build that would be ready for sharing, in some way, in some format… I inherited a MacBook Pro just before Christmas, so at some point will see how it cross compiles for Mac as well as the current Windows Build 🙂
The core game is in a playable state as it is now, but still quite a few rough edges and needing a menu system, help system etc.
As for how long it will take, I hope you will forgive me for not wanting to mention a date, since this just creates expectations that need to be looked after. It remains as a hobby that fits into the idle hours of life, and how many of those come along in any given week or month can be unpredictable 🙂 I had thought it would be done in 2018, but here we are still…
I’ll come with more concrete details when I get that confident feeling that completion is a few weeks ahead.

I hope that you have good enough hardware to get the fluid experience as it’s intended, and can also enjoy the audio experience (something unique to this Midnight remake) whilst you attempt to replay your strategies… let me know how you get on 🙂
If you like this version, then the next Unity version in development should also appeal, watch this space 😉

It’s an interesting one because I’m sure I disabled the Escape key!
Just to confirm you are exiting the game via the Main Menu normally, right?
Clearly something in the shutdown process is failing… and I suspect the fact you have an AMD Radeon could be significant… I know these cards can sometimes behave differently and I could only test the game on the GeForce range.
So to solve a potential Radeon issue will not be easy but I’ll review the shutdown code to see if I get any ideas of how to debug further…
Other than this, the game plays ok ?

OK I rehosted on Dropbox and updated the links within the text file.
So please try the download process again and let me know how you get on.

It seems that due to the file size, the web host cannot guarantee error free downloading of the file.
I’ve therefore hosted it external to this website and re-pointed the download links there.
So hopefully no more download issues!
It seems that several people had the same issue now so I’ve opened a support ticket with my web host..

I’ve emailed you with a couple of alternative links on my Acronis Cloud account.
Did you try disabling your antivirus before downloading
It should really not be necessary as many downloads have been made successfully from these files, but might be worth a go
Failing that I will upload to a different service that I have eg Acronis Cloud and provide you a direct download link from there

Therefore would suggest you check maybe continuity of your connection during download or perhaps try it from another machine if you’re able to
