Well after several years of development, and a few days later than scheduled, the day has finally arrived where I can publicly release the next version of War of the Solstice.
Special thanks are due to my coworker on this project, Mr. Wayne Britcliffe, who has created once again some exceptional content this time in the form of more than 25 musical pieces, 50 incidental “stings”, 10 audio textures, 325 sound effects and 260 guidance sub-phrases!
Thanks are also due to Chris Wild for granting permission to release this update under licence from www.thelordsofmidnight.com.
Final thanks rest with Mike Singleton for creating the land of Midnight more than 30 years ago, a place which will be with me for many years to come!
We hope you will agree that this update adds a unique extra dimension to the realm of Midnight and that you can enjoy the audio experience as you take on the armies of Doomdark once again!
User registration is required before downloading the content (a registration link is provided at the top right of the site). Once registered return here and follow the download links below or on the menu above. No formal installation is necessary. Simply extract the archive contents to your preferred drive location, and then run the Midnight.exe within.
I have opened up some new forums on this website where you can provide your feedback, suggestions and of course report bugs to be fixed – I left a few in for you to find π
Happy New Year!

Thks a lot for this gift π
Have an Happy new Year π
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!
Happy New Year! What a great present!
FYI: could not register – was on Win 10 with Google Chrome that produced an invalid link message. Tried on my Win XP box with Chrome and that worked fine.
Downloaded and running on Win10 – so far so good π
Fantastic! Have posted more in the forum.
I’m happy that it seems to work for you guys, was expecting some teething problems getting it running perhaps but so far so good ?
Tried to register never received the link email
Hi Mark
What OS and browser are you using? Is it possible to try a different browser?
I have tried both Windows Vista (I know) and Windows 10. On vista I used Firefox on Windows 10 it is Explorer.
If you could send me a password that would be great.
Hi Mark, I emailed you over a password. Hopefully it will now work for you. Many thanks
Hi,
I had the same problem and was using an “ntlworld.com” email address. Didn’t received the confirmation email or several requests to send a new password.
However created another new user and used my Gmail account and that was received fine (so all ok and downloading now!). You might possibly have some domains blocked? Just a thought! Happy New Year!
Thanks for the info. I have some Antispam plugin running in the background, this could be the cause of the issues. I’m a bit reluctant to disable it though as I did get several automated registrations from clearly non-human entities before I had applied that plugin!
Hi I am unable to register – when I complete the form and submit it, it says that the password reset link seems to be invalid. Please help
Hi I emailed you a password which you can hopefully login with
I also adjusted a couple of security settings to try and alleviate some of the registration issues which seem to be occurring.
Many thanks Luxor
Hi Luxor, just got into the game and the graphics look superb, the music is lovely and the sound effects give it a different edge.
I look forward to starting a full campaign later today, but I have 1 question, and please excuse my ignorance if the method of saving in this release is different. In the previous release, there were save and load buttons in the ‘MORE’ menu, but I can’t see any in this release. Am I just missing something obvious?
Thanks
Draygor
Glad you like the new additions.
If you press SPACE then the menu toggles to the 2nd row of icons which does contain the LOAD and SAVE features.
Autosave occurs after each night processing, and you can do it manually by pressing the icon at any time.
The only option you have to reload an existing campaign at the moment is to start a new campaign and then load the existing one using this method. A bit clunky I know and I will get the “Continue Existing Campaign” on the main menu working as soon as I can.
Excellent thank you – I knew it would be something obvious!!
